MUMBAI: Indian singer Asha Bhosle’s album Precious Platinum has been featured in the Top 100 Greatest World Music Albums of all Time by Amazon.com.
Precious Platinum has been given the honour of being the only Indian singer to be placed at the top 100 greatest to music albums of the world. Other Indian luminaries like instrumentalist Ali Asgar and Pandit Ravi Shankar and music maestro AR Rahman also feature in the credits. However, Asha Bhonsle stands out as being the only singer.
Speaking on the same, a close friend of the veteran singer confided, “Asha tai is delirious with joy. This is a honour bestowed upon her by the world. She is the only singer, who in her 70s still performs around the world. And to thank God, Asha tai will go to seek the blessings from the Lalbagcha Raja, the biggest and oldest Ganesh pandal in Mumbai on Wednesday.”
Asha Bhonsle, who begun her career in the shadow of elder sibling Lata Mangeshkar, created her niche in the singing world. Today her songs are still the most popular amongst all generations.
